Devotion - March 15, 2021
Good Morning Extraordinary Connection Family,
Between the time change’s effect on myself, and my son, and a stuck page in my calendar, I did not film a devotional for today. Instead I slept, and I might even go back to sleep after writing this. If we are to follow Jesus’ command ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Mark 12:31 then we must love ourselves. A major factor in loving ourselves is talking care of ourselves: getting enough sleep, eating properly, getting exercise, and the like.
All of these activities are shown to us in scripture. Jesus took a nap in a boat after preaching, Jesus had compassion on the crowds following him and he feed them, King David danced, and many other instances of people taking care of their needs so they can give grace to others.
So today: eat right, take a walk or a nap or both, and love yourselves. Because only from loving ourselves can we give our holy siblings the love they deserve.
Pray with me:
O Lord, you have made me your beloved child, please help me take care and love myself as you love me.
