Not a ministry idea, but I find it funny that one of Heim's favorite toys is a stuffed Opossum!
One the ministry side: there are some issues with the Christmas Boxes from Samaritans Purse, so I had a previous church create Heart & Health Boxes for Christmas distribution at local homeless shelters, food banks, and women's resource centers. The idea was to give the Christmas Gifts that everyone needs and no one wants: socks, soap, shampoo, vitamins, etc... My church got really behind it, we had a different collection item each week at service for 6 months and created over 120 boxes!
Thanks for the kind words on the Romeo Road Rally.
From a previous appointment they have done a yearly Talent Show at the end of the school year as the Wednesday night program went on summer break. This year the normal Talent Show wasn't going to be possible so instead I encouraged anyone who wanted to record a video of their talent. We had people sing, dance, do magic, one family created a mini-movie Michigander Jones (a parody of Indiana Jones). Once the videos had been sent to me we all gathered via Zoom and had our talent show as I played the videos for everyone. It was a great way to celebrate one of the churches traditions in a new and different, yet still fun, way.
That does sound fun. What a neat idea. I may borrow that one too
