The story of Judas is a difficult one, particularly in the ending Matthew provides. But a writing from Frederick Buechner introduced Dillon to a tradition from the ancient church that carries the story through to redemption and hope. In his reflection, Dillon considers how we might seek the same for ourselves and others.
Pastor Robert is still unpacking boxes, but here is a pre-recorded devotional that returns to the book of Jonah to reflect on our relationship with the rest of creation.
Today Pastor Kayla looks at Psalm 42 and asks: "What are you longing for? How can you fulfill your longing for God today? Do it! Don't wait! Fill your cup with God's abundant grace!"
We are all called into ministry through our baptism. Some are called to lay ministries, some are called to professional ministry, and some are called to ordained ministry. In today's devotional, Deacon Sarah shares what a United Methodist Deacon is, and how she is called to create safe spaces for young people. How are you called to live as a disciple wherever you find yourself?
In this extraordinary connection devotion, Pastor Scott looks at the story of Nancy Green and wrestles with the question of what should we do with images, statues and mascots through the lens of 1 Corinthians 8
Grace and peace to you from our Lord and Savior. I think I might have Paul's go-to opening phrase in my mind today because I am hoping you will all extend me a little grace as well. It is T-minus 24 hours until the moving truck will be showing up to pick my family up and move us to my new appointment in Romeo, MI. As such I thought I would be able to get a devotion recorded for today, but as the best made plans go I have spent more time with boxes, tape, and bubble wrap than I ever imagined. I'm sorry but I don't have it in me to get a proper devotion recorded for today, but I hope that after some of the crazy that is swirling in my life right now has subsided I will be back with you next week. Thank you for understanding and for continuing on this journey with us here at Extraordinary Connection.
