Today's devotion is from Pastor Sari she offers a space of lament for those who “hurt so hard they cannot hope,” with a reading of Psalm 88, an original song, “These Sweet Hills,” and a Rumi poem. If you feel you are struggling with mental illness of any kind in these difficult times, know that it’s OK to “be a downer.” You are loved regardless. Pastor Scott is providing today's devotion as he takes us to Disney with a story of his own, "Alexander and The Haunted Mansion" and looks at Hebrews 13:1-2.
Today's devotion comes from Pastor Devin as he spends a little time in the garage and a little time in Isaiah 43:16-21.
Pastor Matthew has the devotion for this Monday as he takes a look at Luke 12:1-7 and Luke 12:13-21.
Today we are very excited to share that we have a special guest presenter for today, Kayla Roosa. Not only that, but each Sunday we are going to feature a different guest devotion, further reaching into our Extraordinary Connection in Michigan.
Take a look below to learn a little more about Kayla and view her words of encouragement.
One thing I've missed most:
Generally speaking, I am an extrovert and I LOVE handshakes and hugs on Sunday mornings. I went to Israel on March 1st, returned the 12th and began isolation. It's been a long time without being able to give handshakes and hugs to the church I serve! I also miss eating out - I LOVE FOOD!
I am currently serving in my first full time appointment at Freeland UMC located in the Central Bay District, where I was appointed in July 2017. Prior to that appointment, I was appointed to Poseyville United Methodist Church just down the road from Freeland UMC half time while I completed my M-Div from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary. In my spare time I enjoy outdoor activities - biking, camping, kayaking, hammocking and hiking. I've enjoyed taking advantage of the nicer weather during this social distancing on my bike to do driveway visits with parishioners who live in my neighborhood. As a pastor, I am passionate about creating opportunities for people all ages and abilities to connect with our loving God.
